| Is there a better place to find yourself in than the Sacred Grove? |
While I was talking to my friend Sharla, I came to the realization that I really hate projects! Sharla is such an amazing person and she is always finding cute projects that she wants to do! She knitted her own Mickey Mouse hats for their family trip to Disneyland and made her kids shirts all from a pin she saw on Pinterest! Seriously!! Pinterest is such a great place to find so many different projects and I have to admit that I find it all totally overwhelming!! Over the last year, I haven't had ANY projects.....well, none that I actually wanted to do! I see something cute on Pinterest and I instantly have a panic attack! I'd have to buy fabric, glue, buttons, thread, etc. Plus all of the cutting, measuring, painting... And my biggest panic comes from the mess I imagine it would make and that I would have to clean it up! Seriously! Could I big a bigger pansy?? Does anyone else feel this way? Am I truly the only one that thinks like this??
Okay, so what does all of this have to do with starting up my blog again? Well, I will take you back to my conversation with Sharla. Because she has SO many projects, we set up a day for me to go over to her house to help her finish a few. It was great! Our friend Staci ended up stopping by and we talked and laughed for a couple of hours and we finished a baby blanket and I started sewing some lettering on a 4th of July decoration. I ended up taking that project home with me and just finished it this week while I was in bed sick. It felt great to be doing a project that I didn't have to think up, buy materials for, or have a mess to clean up by myself!! I got to do service, laugh my head off, get out of my house, and use a skill that I haven't used in a long time!(How many of you have hand-stitched anything lately?)
So here is my proposal for this blog! I want to be a project Finisher! Do you have a project that has been sitting in your closet collecting dust? Do you have dust that's been collecting that needs to be gone? Do you have tops of cabinets that haven't been cleaned since the day they were hung? Do you have a neighbor that needs her garden weeded? Do you need a treat? If you do, (and I know you all do!) I want you to email me, call me, message me on FB, what ever, and I will be there! I want to serve someone at least three days a week and I want to post the pictures of those I have helped! SO it's up to YOU!
I have made a list of things I really love doing for others. Choose as many as you would like, or come up with your own and let's set a date!

You need to live closer to me so you can do 30 days of service for me. Haha! Just kidding! But only kind of!! Seriously, bring your family out here so we can party and you can clean my cupboards!!
ReplyDeleteRegarding Pinterest--more than once I've found a stashed Wal-Mart bag with an odd assortment of items like felt, shaving cream, stencils, and fake flowers. What the heck was I going to do with this stuff?!! Then we just go outside and run around or something.
