- Here is my new goal. I'm going to work on my Personal Progress for 30 days. I did it when I was in Young Women's, but I feel a need to do it again. It's like re-reading the Book of Mormon. You learn something new every time you do it. It's been 11 years, and I think it's time for a refresher.
Today I am starting with Faith - "Faith is not to have a perfect knowledge of things; therefore, if ye have Faith ye hope for things which are not seen, which are true." Alma 32:21
The first Experience is " The first principle of the gospel in faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Learn about Faith from the scriptures and living prophets. Read: Hebrews 11;Alma 32:17-43;Ether 12:6-22; and Joseph Smith -History 1:11-20. Read two General Conference talks on Faith. Exercise your own faith by establishing a habit of prayer in your life. Begin by regularly saying your morning and evening prayers. After 3 weeks of following this pattern, discuss with a parent of leader what you have learned about faith and how daily personal prayer has strengthened your faith. In your journal express your feelings about faith and prayer."
Holy Cow that is a lot! As I as typing all of that, I was thinking that it would be great for all of us to do this together and I think I'm going to try to get it finished by my next birthday. This is going to be an ongoing goal. Get a Personal Progress book from your YW President in your Ward and let's do this!!
This is so great. I just earned mine again in 2009. It was hard and a super spiritual boost. You do know that if you're in YW right now the requirements are less for you? You have to serve for 1 year and complete the 3 required experiences in each value, do 3 projects, and do all of Virtue. If you're not in YW you just have to do it like the girls.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a good example for your kids. You will be able to help them and empathize with them as the work on their own PP. so awesome.
